Holburn Homes was formed in 2021 bringing together construction expertise from David Thomas Developments Ltd., interior design from River Till Cottages Ltd, and engineering expertise from TBI Associates Ltd.
We specialise in converting old farm buildings into sleek modern homes in rural Northumberland. We work carefully with forward-thinking architects to respect buildings’ history and strive to achieve a perfect blend of ancient and modern, for example through careful preservation of original beams and expert renovation of existing stonework.
Our homes are ideally suited as family homes, weekend retreats, or as holiday lets taking advantage of the huge popularity of our beautiful county as a holiday destination.

We employ our own local staff for general building work. We also work with local tradesmen who are experts in their field, for example stone masons and joiners.
We are committed to using local materials wherever possible, for example our stone comes from Darney quarry in Hexham.
•Ecologically friendly and sustainable
We are committed to making our homes eco-friendly. All our homes are heated through air source heat pumps, using underfloor heating. There are charging points for electric vehicles in the garage area. Our kitchens are equipped with “A” rated appliances, Lighting supplied is LED low-energy lighting, and all our toilets are dual flush to preserve water.

We aim to achieve the highest quality in all we do, from construction to interior design and fitting. All our windows and external doors are make from accoya hardwood, this lasts 50 years above ground. We use Bosch appliances in our kitchens, a range of porcelain tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and entrance halls, and Farrow and Ball colours in our interiors.
